Kayak for Safe Passage Kids Expedition
Deb Walters started her solo paddling journey in July 2014. She set out from Yarmouth, Maine where the Safe Passage U.S. Development Office is located. In January 2015, more than 1,000 miles into her trek, Deb underwent emergency spinal surgery. Ever-determined, Deb continued her speaking tour from South Carolina to Florida by car. Once in Florida, Deb boarded the pre-scheduled sailing vessel Polaris to safely sail to Guatemala. She was greeted by Safe Passage staff in Guatemala City and was welcomed with a celebration in her honor.
Now recovered, Deb re-launched her expedition where she left off in South Carolina and is expected to reach Guatemala City by April 2016.
The journey continues. Your donation to her mission continues to make a tangible impact on over 525 Safe Passage students and their families. Thank you!
